UPTET exam for transforming your life to a next life

The UPTET 2020 exam will be tentatively held on December 22, 2020. The exam is conducted to certify candidates' eligibility for become teachers in Uttar Pradesh schools.The exam is divided into two articles: Test 1 and Test 2. According to the UPTET 2020 Exam Pattern, the candidate who aspires to become a teacher of classes 1 to 5 must take Test 1, while Test 2 is intended to those who want to become a teacher for classes 6–8. To teach students from all classes, ie 1-8, one must appear for both Test 1 and Test 2. The duration of the UPTET 2020 exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes for each test. It is a 150 point paper and pencil based offline test with 150 multiple choice questions of 1 point each without any negative scoring provisions. The UPTET 2020 curriculum includes Child Development and Teaching Methodology, Language 1 and 2, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Science, and Social Studies.

UPTET 2020 Eligibility for Test 1 and Test 2 is different. Candidates must verify eligibility before applying for the exam. The UPTET 2020 application form will be published in November 2020. Candidates can apply for test 1, test 2 or both. The application fees are INR 600 for General, OBC and EWS categories, INR 400 for SC, ST and INR 100 for PwD candidates. Candidates must achieve 60% grades (55% for SC / ST) to qualify for the UPTET 2020 exam. Qualifying candidates will receive the UPTET Certificate of Eligibility which is valid for 5 years.

UPTET Eligibility Criteria 2020

UPTET has two groups of applicants: primary teacher applicants (classes 1 to 5) and higher primary education teacher applicants (classes 6 to 8). The UPTET 2020 eligibility criteria for both are different.

UPTET Rating for Elementary Teachers

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% qualifications from a recognized university and 2 years Diploma (D.Ed) from N.C.T.E / Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). OR
  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years B.T.C., C.T. (Nursery) / Nursery Teacher Training (NTT) O
  • Bachelor and degree in special B.T.C. Training O
  • Bachelor with 2 years and special training BCT Urdu in Uttar Pradesh OR
  • Bachelor and Diploma in Teaching from Aligarh Muslim University (for Urdu teacher) or Moallim-E-Urdu degree before 08-11-1997

UPTET Qualification for Upper Primary Teachers

  • Bachelor’s degree & B.T.C from National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) approved institute OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks &B.Ed/ B.Ed Special Education from Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) OR
  • Intermediate (10+2) with minimum 50% marks & 4 year B.A/ B.S.C.Ed/ B.A.Ed from N.C.T.E./ U.G.C recognized institute OR
  • Intermediate (10+2) with minimum 50% marks & 4 year Degree (B.El.Ed) in Primary Education OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 45% &B.Ed degree     

UPTET 2020 age limit

Applicant's age must be between 18 and 35 years old. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted an age relaxation according to the norms prescribed by the government.

How to apply for UPTET 2020?

UPTET 2020 application forms will be available from November 1 to 20, 2020. They can be completed online only. The application form for UPTET 2020 can be completed by following the given steps:

Step 1 - UPTET 2020 Registration

  • UPTET applicants must register on the official UPBEB website, i.e updeled.gov.in.
  • During registration, columns that are marked with "*" cannot be left blank.
  • Fill in the important details such as name, educational qualifications, personal details and other details requested in the online form.
  • It is mandatory to select the district in the UPTET Registration form, where the candidate wants to take the exam.
  • The applicant must have the last scanned photograph and his signature.

Step 2 - Payment of the UPTET application fee

  • Payment of fees is made after UPTET 2020 registration is done.
  • The fee must be paid only through the online mode.
  • Online options include debit and credit cards from various banks.

Step 3 - Complete the UPTET 2020 application form

  • After payment of the UPTET fee, fill out the TET online form and mention the registration number and date of birth.
  • Please indicate your preferred test centers and complete the form.
  • Review and submit the UPTET form.

Step 4 - Upload the photo and signature

  • Once the fee is paid, upload all the necessary documents online.
  • These documents include the signature and recent color photograph of the candidate.
  • Scanned documents must be in .png / .jpg / .jpeg formats.
  • Photo size: less than 20 Kbs (width 3.5 cm and height 4.5 cm)
  • Signature size: less than 10 Kbs (width 4.5 cm and height 2.5 cm)

UPTET 2020 admission card

UPBEB will provisionally issue the UPTET admission card on December 12, 2020. It is available in online mode only on the official UPTET website. Candidates must log in to updeled.gov.in with their registration number and password to download the admission card.

Steps to download the UPTET 2020 admission card:

  • Visit the official UPTET website
  • Provide all necessary details: UPTET registration number and password / date of birth
  • Click the Submit button
  • UPTET Admit Card would appear on the screen
  • Check all the mentioned details and get your impression

Discrepancy in the UPTET 2020 admission card

The UPTET admission card is issued only to eligible and successfully registered candidates. The admission card contains details of the applicant and information about the UPTET role. The details mentioned on the UPTET admission card should be carefully checked for the language of the paper, the exam center, the exam date and time, the roll number and the candidate's photo. If any discrepancies are observed on the UPTET admission card, candidates should immediately contact the official authority.

UPTET 2020 exam pattern

UPTET 2020 will be conducted in two separate articles: Test 1 and Test 2. Test 1 will be conducted for candidates requesting teacher appointment for classes 1 to 5. While Test 2 will be conducted for teacher appointment for classes. 6 to 8.

  • Both Test 1 and Test 2 will be run in offline mode.
  • Paper 1 includes 5 subjects / sections and Test 2 includes 4 subjects / sections.
  • The duration of both works is 2.5 hours (or 150 minutes).
  • Objective-type multiple-choice questions are asked in the exam.
  • 1 point will be awarded for each correct answer and there is no negative rating provision in UPTET.

UPTET 2020 result

The UPTET 2020 result will be declared on January 7, 2021. However, the official UPTET 2020 response keys will be published prior to the declaration of results.

UPTET 2020 cut-off date

UP's Board of Basic Education is cut based on certain criteria defined within the board. The cut as decided is as follows:

  • Candidates belonging to the general category who obtain 60% (90/150 points) of the total score will be considered suitable for UPTET Recruitment.
  • The required qualification score for candidates in the reserved category is 55% (83/150 points).
  • Candidates who qualify for UPTET will receive a certificate of eligibility for UPTET.

UPTET 2020 Eligibility Certificate

The UPTET certificate of eligibility is valid for 5 years. The certificate of eligibility can be obtained from the district board of education by providing a copy of the UPTET admission card and photo identity card. Those candidates who qualify at UPTET and want to apply for the teaching position in Uttar Pradesh schools, can apply by providing the certificate of eligibility. Candidates may acquire a second copy of the UPTET Certificate of Eligibility by paying fees of INR 300 via DD (Demand Draft) payable in favor of the “Secretary, Exam Controller Officer” payable in Allahabad.

To retrieve the second copy of the UPTET Certificate of Eligibility, applicants must submit the following documents:
