The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Group has extended the application deadline for MHT CET consultations. Applicants can now apply until 22 December 2020 for b.tech studies on the official website - cetcell.mahacet.org. MHT CET document verification will take place until 23 December 2020. The MHT CET  exam(MH CET) or Maharashtra Common entrance test is conducted by the State General Admission Test Group, Mumbai for admission to the first year of the Engineering and Technology Program (BE / BTech) and the Pharmacy Program (BPharma / DPharm) into the state. Until 2018, the exam was administered by DTE, Maharashtra.

Registration began on December 9, 2020. This exam is administered by the State Chamber of General Admissions Test under the Maharashtra government. It is a state-level entrance examination that is organized every year for admission to various public and private institutions located in the state of Maharashtra. Candidates who successfully pass the entrance exam are granted admission to the engineering, agriculture, and pharmaceutical programs. In accordance with the changes made by DTE Maharashtra, MH CET is conducted online CBT in several shifts. In this article, we have provided all the details related to MH CET 2020.

The exam was performed separately for PCM and PCB candidates. In the meantime, the MHT CET Simulated Test was posted on the official website to introduce candidates to the computerized test. Separate simulation test links are provided for PCB and PCM candidates. According to the official notification from the authorities, 20% of the weight is attributed to the curriculum of the 11th year and 80% of the weight is attributed to the curriculum of the 12th year in the preparation of the questionnaire.

Previously, the authorities had also provided the possibility to change the MHT CET Examination Centers so that candidates could choose the center near their hometown. Applicants can expect the level of difficulty of the article to be similar to the level of difficulty of the Main JEE article for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and Biology to be equal to NEET.

Candidates will get allocated places to various colleges in Maharashtra based on the candidate's results at the MHT CET  exam 2020. This is one of the biggest examinations in terms of test-takers in India, as around three lakh candidates appear on MHT CET every year. The MHT CET is considered a relatively difficult test to try and there is usually a lot of debate among candidates about how to prepare for it.

MHT CET 2021 Important Dates


The official date for MHT CET 2021 Exam date has been released early as all events have been postponed due to the COVID-19 crisis until further notice. Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Cells will release MHT CET 2021 key dates in January. Candidates can get all the information related to the release of application forms, admission cards, exams, and other admission related events by checking MHT CET's key dates. The detailed schedule will be released by the CET cell in the official MHT CET 2021 information brochure. Students preparing for the MHT CET 2021 exam should regularly check this page or the official website for the latest information. It is recommended that students complete all processes such as filling out the application form and downloading admission cards in the MHT CET important 2021 specified dates and avoid last-minute hassles. Eligibility Criteria Of MHT CET :

  • Nationality: Candidates applying must be Indian citizens.
  • Candidates from other countries: Candidates from other countries who have a Domicile / Residence Deed and a Date of Birth / Population Certificate issued from an authorized institution other than
  • The state of Maharashtra is eligible.
  • NRI / OCI / PIO / Foreign Nationals: These candidates are exempted from participating in the 2020 MH CET. These candidates must be accepted through the AIEEA JEE Main / NEET / ICAR score at B.E / B.Tech/ B.Sc. Meanwhile, students who register B. Enter Farm must appear at MH CET.
  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates must pass a level 10 + 2 exams or its equivalent from a recognized Council or University.
  • Qualification Score: Applicants must score at least 50% (45% for the category ordered) in the qualification exam.
  • Appear: Candidates who appeared in the final year of the qualification exam can also apply.


Applicants must check the selection criteria established by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education before applying for the MHT CET 2020. Only candidates who meet the selection criteria will be eligible to participate in MHT CET 2020. Below are the eligibility requirements for MHT CET 2020:

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • There is no age limit to participate in the MHT CET 2020.
  • The candidate must pass the HSC / Grade XII or equivalent exam in physics and mathematics as compulsory subjects in any of the subjects of chemistry/biotechnology/biology/technique / professional.
  • Candidates submitted to the qualification exam (HSC / XII) in 2020 are considered eligible.
  • Applicants must receive a minimum of 50% of grades (for the general category) and at least 45% of grades (for the reserved category and candidates with disabilities) in total in 5 subjects.
  • Female applicants are not eligible for mining courses.


Basic eligibility for MHT CET is that candidates must have passed grade 12 on a recognized board or equivalent. Separate eligibility conditions for all courses are provided below:


For engineering courses


  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • Applicants must pass the 12th-grade exam or HSC exam in subjects such as physics, chemistry, English, and mathematics/biotechnology/biology / technical professional discipline.
  • Must have received at least 50% of the cumulative marks (45% of the cumulative marks for candidates in the reserved category).
  • Approved the diploma in engineering and technology and received at least 50% of the marks (45% in the case of a reserved category)
  • JEE 1 core document qualifications obtained (candidates from all applications in India, candidates from migrant candidates from Jammu and Kashmir)


For pharmacy courses


  • Candidates must be citizens of India.
  • Candidates must complete grade 12 in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics / Biology / Biotechnology / Vocational Education. For general category candidates, the minimum percentage criterion is 45%, and for ordered categories, 40%.
  • There is no age limit for this course.


MHT CET Test Pattern 2020


MHT-CET will be conducted in two groups, namely PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) and PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology). The question paper is a multiple choice question (MCQ) which has 4 choices and questions and the marking system is as follows:


This questionnaire will cover the Maharashtra State Council's secondary and tertiary education programs.

Approximately 20% of the weight will be given to the 11th-grade curriculum, and 80% of the weight will be given to the 12th-grade curriculum when completing tests.

Questionnaire language: The language of instructions for the exam is English, Urdu, Marathi in physics, chemistry, and biology. Mathematics papers will only be available in English. Prospective students are advised to carefully choose the medium/language of the questionnaire before applying for the MHT CET 2020 exam .

MH CET 2020 Admit Card:


The MH CET 2020 Admit Card has been published on the website after a successful MHT CET registration process. To download the admit card, go to the website and enter your roll number/registration ID and password/date of birth.

After downloading the admit card, candidates have to enter their recent photo in the admit card.

The authority conducting the examination will issue the admit card to all the applicants who will fill and submit the application form within the last date. The MHT CET 2021 Admit Card will be available online and students will have to log in and download it on their candidate portal. It should be noted that no candidate will be allowed to appear in the examination without the admit card.


MHT CET Cut off 2020:


To be eligible for admission to the B.technology programs offered by the institution, applicants must obtain the required score. Deductions are released after each round of seat allocation by DTE Maharashtra. To determine the Cutoff MHT CET, certain parameters are taken into consideration such as the number of places available, the number of candidates appearing on the CET, and the degree of difficulty of the exam.


MHT CET Result :


Maharashtra CET Cell will announce the result of the entrance test in May. Students who appear in the MHT CET 2021 exam will be able to check their results using their application number and password. MHT CET result will contain details about marks secured by the candidates along with rank and qualification status. Students who will be declared eligible will be eligible for the counseling and admission process, subject to fulfilling other eligibility requirements.

The scorecard contains the name of the applicant, application number, name of the parent, category, section score, and overall percentile.

According to the candidate's records, the list of accomplishments is published by the Council on the website. Eligible candidates are pre-selected on the merit list for the counseling process.



Preparation Tips For MHT CET:


Prospective participants get additional time due to lockdown so they must follow a well-planned approach to achieve better results at MHT CET 2020 Exam date. To do this, potential participants need to follow some preparation tips and tricks. Every year around 4 lakh students apply for MHT CET and this creates a lot of competition for the desired seats in good colleges. Candidates can follow the tips given below to prepare for the 2020 MHT CET.


  • Candidates must go through the complete MHT CET syllabus to find out what is important to learn.
  • The candidates must then divide the topics according to the difficulty and time needed to prepare them.
  • A detailed time table should be prepared, allocating the time required for each subject. Time dedicated to studying should be synchronized with exam time.
  • Mathematics comprises half of the total paperweight so it must be well prepared covering all the important topics to ensure a good score.
  • General topics in Physics and Chemistry such as thermodynamics must be prepared simultaneously to save time.
  • Topics from grade 11 have to be prepared in advance as they form the basis of many concepts for topics from grade 12.
  • Candidates must follow standardized books to learn concepts. Publications such as Marvel, PLPN, Arihant, and MTG are well known among the candidates.
  • Practice a variety of questions from previous year's papers, mock tests, and practice papers.


Application form for MHT CET 2020:


The application form for participation in the MHT CET 2020 is available from January 7 to May 31, 2020. For an additional charge for late payment, the application form is available until May 31, 2020.


The application process includes the following steps:


Step 1. Registration of candidates

  • Visit the MHT CET official website and find the "registration link".
  • Click on "new user" and enter details like email address, phone number, password, etc.
  • You will receive a unique user ID and password to your registered email address or contact number.


Step 2: Complete the online application form

  • Complete the MH CET 2020 Application Form and carefully provide your personal information, contact information, and academic details before submitting them.
  • In addition, the booking information must be completed along with other details.
  • Prospective students are advised to carefully choose the medium/language of the questionnaire before applying for the MHT CET 2020 exam.
  • The language of instruction on the exam is English, Urdu, Marathi in physics, chemistry, and biology.
  • Mathematics papers will only be available in English.


Step 3: Upload the document

  • Upload your passport photo by clicking on the white background and a scanned copy of your signature.
  • The photos must be in .jpg format between 15 kb and 50 kb.
  • Signatures must be made in black ink and must be scanned at 200 dpi.
  • The signature size should range from 5kb to 20kb.
  • Candidates must upload a test ID also in .pdf format with a size of only 15-256 KB.


Step 4. Online payment of registration fee

  • The MHT CET registration fee can be paid online or offline.
  • The registration fee for the MHT CET 2020 is INR 800 for the general category, and applicants for the reserved categories must pay INR 600.
  • If the candidate chooses to pay online, he must use Internet Banking or pay by credit or debit card. Offline payment can be made via a Challan email that will be automatically generated.
  • For an additional fee of INR 500, applicants can complete the forms from 1 to 7 March 2020.

What to take with you for the exam?

MHT CET will be held online. Bring a ballpoint pen with you as you will be provided with a piece of paper for the heavy classwork.

What you can't take with you to class?

Mobile phones, calculators, clocks, alarms, digital clocks with built-in calculator/memory, scanners, Bluetooth-enabled devices, etc. They will not be allowed into the examination room.


Required documents


Applicants presenting for the exam must ensure that they carry their MHT CET admission cards to the examination center. Your photo must be attached to your ticket to the lounge. In addition, applicants must carry one valid state / central government-issued photo ID. The documents that can be delivered include:


  • Driver's license
  • Student ID
  • Aadhaar Map
  • PAN card
  • Passport
  • Voter ID

Please note that E-Aadhaar Card and Ration Card are not valid ids for MHT CET 2020.

Question. How to convert CGPA to a percentage?

Answer You need to multiply your CGPA by 9.5 and the result will be your percentage, or you can contact your school or junior college administration for a conversion formula to convert CGPA to percentage.


Question. I am an NRI candidate aspiring to enter engineering. Can I appear at MHT CET 2020?

Answer No. NRI / OCI / PIO children, children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, foreign nationals are exempt from participation in the MHT CET 2020. They must register for admission purposes at the document verification stage of the centralized admission process according to the schedule to be announced by the competent authority.


Question. When can I check & confirm my photo and signature before the receipt card is created?

Answer. When successfully registering for MHT CET 2020, you are required to upload a passport size photo and your latest signature and the same will be shown on the Recognition Form which will be available after payment is made.

Please note that full height / cropped part photos of group photos etc will not be accepted and applications will be quickly rejected.


Question. When will the results of the 2020 MHT CET be announced?

Answer. The MHT CET results will be announced as soon as the exam ends. After that, a list of achievements will be created, and accordingly, the candidates can apply for the counseling process.
