MICAT, founded in 1991, is the highest-rated institution offering PGDM / PGDM-C, equivalent to an MBA with a specialization in Advertising and Brand Management, Marketing Analytics, Digital Communications Management, and Media and Entertainment Management. To be admitted to the PGDM / PGDM-C MICA program, students must pass the MICAT exam along with any other MBA entrance test (CAT, XAT, GMAT).

The MICAT is organized by the Mudra Institute for Communication, Ahmedabad, for admission to the Postgraduate in Management Education - Communication (PGDM-C). MICAT is carried out twice a year as MICAT I and MICAT II.

This is a computerized test (CBT) that will be run twice to select the 2021-2023 PGDM-C and PGDM batches. The best of two MICAT points will be taken into account in the selection of candidates. In addition to passing CAT 2020 or XAT 2021, you need to report to MICAT. The MICAT 2020 registration fee is Rs 1,985 including GST.

There will be two MICAT exam and both will be computer-based. MICAT-1 will be held on December 5, 2020, and MICAT-II on January 30, 2021. MICA Ahmedabad opened the MICAT-1 registration process in October MICAT 2020.

In addition to PGDM and PGDM-C, MICA also offers a one-year postgraduate program, Crafting Creative Communications (CCC), and a 4-year Fellowship Management (FPM) program.

The MICAT is a national-level admission exam administered by the Mudra Communications Institute in Ahmedabad (MICA) twice a year for admission to its main two-year Graduate Program in Management Communication (PGDM-C). The MICAT entrance exam is taken online for candidates in December and February.

MICAT Eligibility Criteria:

MICA Ahmedabad or Communication Institute Mudra Ahmedabad defines the eligibility criteria for MICAT-I and MICAT-II. It is very important that MICAT eligibility is verified prior to enrollment in MICAT, as all aspiring candidates know if they are eligible for the exam. In the event that applicants find that they do not meet certain areas according to the MICAT 2021 selection criteria, they may choose to apply elsewhere where they meet the selection criteria. In addition, if the MICAT 2021 eligibility criteria are not met and applicants are still completing the MICAT application form, they should be aware that their candidacy may be canceled at any stage of the admission process and they are required not to obtain admission to MICA.   • Appearance: Candidates who attend the qualification exam can also enroll in MICAT.
  • Applicants must have a valid CAT / XAT / GMAT 2020 score to participate in the program.
  • Applicants must possess a 10 + 2 + 3 bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification from a university recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • They must also have valid scores from any of the nationwide management tests, i.e. CAT 2020, XAT 2021, or GMAT 2018 and beyond, to be eligible for MICAT 2021.
  • Students in the final year of graduation can also apply for a trial.
  • Foreign citizens / NRIs must have a valid GMAT score (600+) passed after 2012 and a passport

To pass the MICAT entrance exam, applicants must have completed/passed or completed the final year of an undergraduate degree in any discipline. However, the degree must be recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Additionally, applicants must pass one of these entrance exams: CAT 2020 / XAT 2021 / GMAT 2019 and beyond. After attending and qualifying for these exams, candidates cannot take the MICAT.

Application form for MICAT 2021:

The authorities of the Mudra Communications Institute in Ahmedabad have published the MICAT II 2021 application form dated 26 November 2020 online. The MICAT 2021 application form has been posted on the official website of MICA Ahmedabad, namely: mica.ac.in. Before interested applicants start filling out the MICAT 2021 application form, they must clearly understand that all entry requirements must be met.

Also, prior to the MICAT 2021 registration, applicants must keep all required documents so that during the application process they do not have to leave some incomplete steps in the middle and then collect the required documents.   • Stage 1- Visit the official MICA website
  • Stage 2 - Registration - Click on the link Register for MICAT 2021. Register for MICAT-I 2021 using your name, email address, and mobile phone number. Fill in details like applicant name, mobile phone number, email address, security code and agree to the terms
  • Step 3 - Log in and fill in your personal details - Enter details such as nationality, gender, date of birth and select three MICAT examination centers in the order of your preference.
  • Step 4 - Enter Qualifications - Fill in educational information pertaining to different levels of study and work experience.
  • Step 5 - Enter CAT / XAT / GMAT Scores - In this step, enter the relevant exam scores passed by CAT / XAT / GMAT.
  • Step 6 - Upload Your Documents - You need to upload the scanned images of your photo and signature in the prescribed size and dimensions.
  • Step 6 - Payment of the Fee - Registration Fee of Rs. 1985 must be paid online via debit card/credit card/internet banking or offline via DD to MICA payable in Ahmedabad.
  • Step 7 - Make a printout of the submitted form and keep it for future reference.

MICAT admit card 2021:

 

Registered applicants who have completed the MICAT 2021 application form on time and whose applications have been accepted by MICAT officials can download the MICAT 2021 admission card for Phase 1 from December 3.

The MICAT Phase 2 Eligible Card will be launched on January 27, 2021. The MICAT 2021 Challenge Letter will be issued online and applicants will need to log into their registered accounts on the MICA Ahmedabad website to access it. To download the MICAT 2021 Admission Card, applicants must use their user ID and password. The MICAT 2021 newsletter download process is described below in simple steps, along with sample images.

MICAT Admission Program for 2021:

The MICAT admission process begins after the announcement of the MICAT result for 2021. The MICAT score is available on the official MICA website along with a scorecard.

The MICAT admission process at MICAT 2021 includes GE-PI (group exercises and face-to-face interview). The first phase will take place in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai, while the second phase of GE-PI will take place only in MICA, Ahemdabad.

  • MICAT reserves the right to change, withdraw or introduce MICAT, GE, and PI centers or the dates of any events mentioned above. The final location of the center is subject to availability.
  • In the event of unforeseen circumstances that may arise during the MICAT exam, the decision of the MICAT admissions office to conduct an examination on the same day or otherwise will be final and binding on candidates.
  • Applicants are also encouraged to be available for viewing, etc. Before 18:00 of the scheduled MICAT date, if necessary.
  •  MICAT uses CAT / XAT / GMAT in the selection process for its PGDM / PGDM - C. IIM, XLRI, and GMAC play no role in the selection process.

MICAT 2021 result:

MICA will announce the MICAT-I result on 21 December 2020, online, through its official website mica.ac.in. Candidates who would have taken the exam can verify their scores on the MICAT 2021 exam by logging into the MICAT candidate accounts. To access MICAT 2021 results, applicants must enter their user ID and password in the login window.

According to the MICAT result, qualified applicants must further appear for Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) at various MICA campuses. The MICAT Phase 2 result will be published on February 14th. The MICAT 2021 final result will be released at the end of March 2021. MICAT 2021 Cut Off:

MICA Ahmedabad does not officially issue a limit for the MICAT, however, the minimum scores for qualifications in all MICAT stages are determined by the institution. The MICAT 2021 limit will be the minimum score that candidates must achieve in each stage of the examination/selection to be considered in the next stage. MICAT 2021 cut marks include the minimum marks that need to be anchored in CAT / XAT / GMAT, MICAT, GD, and PI.

Admission procedure to MICAT - Stages:

Step I: CAT / XAT / GMAT - Applicants must pass one of these three exams and achieve a marginal/positive result. Based on these exams, candidates must apply for MICAT 2021 and include their CAT / GMAT scores and XAT registration number when completing the MICAT 2021 application form.

Stage II: MICA Entrance Test (MICAT) - Candidates in the second phase must pass the MICAT exam conducted by MICA in Ahmedabad.

Test participants are classified according to the MICAT, which consists of 3 sections.

  • Section A: Psychometric test
  • Section B: (has 4 subsections) - Verbal ability, quantitative ability, and data interpretation, general awareness; Divergent and convergent thinking
  • Section C: Descriptive test

Step III: GE and PI: Candidates who are qualified based on their CAT / XAT / GMAT and MICAT scores must then appear for both Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interviews (PI).

 

Frequently Asked Questions Related To MICAT:

Question. I am from Dubai (NRI). Do I have to take the MICAT or are the GMAT scores sufficient to qualify for the MICA?

Answer: GMAT scores from 2018 onwards are accepted, but you must take the MICA entrance exam as GMAT scores only count for the top 10% when choosing your acceptance letter.

Question. I graduated from high school in California. Then my family came to India and now I have completed my studies in India. Does this meet the selection criteria for 10 + 2 + 3?

Answer: Yes, you meet the MICA selection criteria, you can take the MICA exam.

 

Question. What is the assessment scheme for the descriptive section of the MICAT exam?

Answer. There is no negative vote for the descriptive question, but the marks will be assigned on the basis of the written answer by the candidate.

 

Question. Can I apply for a new MICAT test center for myself, as I am physically disabled and cannot travel long distances?

Answer. No, there is no request for a test center to MICAT which you must report to the test center assigned by the authorities based on the choices you provide.

 

Question. What is the MICAT (I) minimum limit for admission in 2021?
