NEET 2021 Exam Date, Registration, Eligibility, Syllabus, Pattern

The National Entrance Eligibility Cum Test (NEET) is the only medical entrance test for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in India. NEET is run by the National Testing Agency (NTA), which is an organization created by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. NTA is responsible for taking various other entrance exams, such as AIAPGET and GPAT.NTA NEET 2021 will take place in the last week of June, tentatively. Candidates wishing to enter the first year of MBBS, BDS or AYUSH courses must register for NEET 2021. The NEET 2021 application form will be published in the second week of February. The NTA NEET 2021 exam date for registration and application process will be online.

On February 2, 2021, CBSE published the date sheet for the class 10 and class 12 board exams. It was speculated that the NTA together with the Ministry of Education might announce a notice regarding the dates of NEET 2021. But the NTA made no such announcement. Previously, the Ministry of Education was expected to provide some clarity on NEET 2021 dates and syllabus by the end of January, but it didn't happen either.

In early January, the NTA announced the dates for the main JEE connections, sparking an expectation among NEET applicants that NTA will soon announce NEET 2021 exam dates. It is now expected that NEET 2021 exam dates can be announced in the first fortnight of February. According to the regular NEET schedule, the NEET 2021 exam date is also expected to take place the last week of June after the class 12 board exam concludes. Courses Offered at NTA NEET 2021

As mentioned above, NEET 2021 is the only entrance test for admission to undergraduate medicine courses in India. Admission to AIIMS and JIPMER MBBS courses will also be based on grades earned in NEET 2021. Apart from these institutes, 76,928 MBBS seats across the country will be filled with the NEET 2021 markings. Admission to 26,949 BDS seats and 52,720 AYUSH seats will also be filled with NEET 2021 scores.

NTA NEET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

The NEET 2021 eligibility criteria were defined by the Medical Council of India (MCI). Candidates who wish to apply for the exam should read the NEET 2021 eligibility criteria before completing their applications. The items below summarize the eligibility criteria for NTA NEET 2021.

  • Applicant must have completed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized institute. This will be considered as a qualification examination to determine a candidate's eligibility.
  • An applicant who belongs to the general category must score a minimum total of 50 percent on the qualifying examination.
  • An applicant who belongs to the SC / ST category must score a minimum total of 40 percent on the qualifying exam.
  • An applicant who belongs to the PwD category must score a minimum total of 45 percent on the qualifying exam.
  • There is no upper age limit for candidates applying for NTA NEET 2021. However, an applicant must be at least 17 years old as of December 31, 2021.

NTA NEET 2021 application form

NTA is expected to release the application form for NEET 2021 in the first week of December. The NEET 2021 application form can be completed online only. However, NTA made an exception for candidates residing in the Kashmir or Leh Valley last year. Such candidates could complete the NEET 2021 application form in an offline mode, it is expected that it will be available for this year as well.

The NEET 2021 application process is quite simple and can be divided into five steps. They are-

  • Registration: Candidates wishing to apply for NTA NEET 2021 will need to register on the official NTA website. To complete the registration process, they will need to enter a valid email ID and mobile phone number
  • Complete the application form: With the credentials generated during the registration process, candidates must log into their accounts. They must complete the application form by completing personal and academic data
  • Uploading documents: After completing all necessary details, candidates must upload scanned copies of a recent passport-size photograph, signature, and a postcard-size photograph
  • Payment of the application fee: To submit the application form, candidates must pay a non-refundable application fee online
  • Confirmation page printing: Once the application has been successfully submitted, candidates should keep a copy of the confirmation page for future reference

NTA NEET 2021 Study Program

The NEET 2021 syllabus is newly defined by MCI. The NTA has no role in determining the NEET 2021 syllabus. Generally, it consists of three subjects: physics, chemistry, and biology. The NEET 2021 syllabus largely overlaps the class 10 to class 12 syllabus for the respective subjects. Due to the disruption in the education system due to COVID-19, authorities are considering a 30 percent reduction in NEET's existing curriculum. Details on this are expected.

NTA NEET 2021 pattern

In accordance with the NEET 2021 exam pattern, the exam will be conducted in an online mode. The NEET questionnaire will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions. The total duration of the exam will be three hours.After the implementation of the NMC Act, NEET has become the only entrance test for admission to undergraduate medical courses. Therefore, the number of examinees for the examination has increased significantly. Many students have requested NTA to begin taking the exam twice a year starting in 2021. NEET preparation requires a lot of dedication and hard work. To qualify for the exam, candidates must enthusiastically prepare for at least 10 months. The first tip for NTA NEET 2021 preparation is to complete the entire NCERT books syllabus. Only after completing these books should you move on to the reference material. Also, they must follow a strict routine during the preparation phase if they want to get good grades in NTA NEET 2021.

The admission card for NEET 2021 will be released in the second week of April. The NEET 2021 Admission Card will be launched online and candidates will need to download it by logging into their registered accounts. The NEET 2021 admission card is a crucial document. Not only is the entrance pass on the day of the exam, but the NEET 2021 admission card will also act as proof of identity during the counseling process.
