The recruitment process in Indian Railways is done by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRBs). To get the job in the Indian Railway is like a dream come true, so get the job one has to clear various stages of recruitment. One of the exams is RRB ALP. It is the national level exam for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) & Technicians Posts.

Eligibility Criteria

 

Age Limit: 18-28 Years (As on 01.07.2020).

Educational Qualification

For the post-Assistant Loco Pilot - 10th/SSLC plus ITI course completed Act Apprenticeship in the trades Or 10th/SSLC plus /Engineering degree  from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the trades of Armature and coil winder/Fitter/Electricians/ Heat Engine/wireman/Tractor Mechanic/Turner/Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Mechanic/ Millwright Maintenance Mechanic / Instrument Mechanic/ Machinist / Mechanic Diesel Or three years diploma in Mechanical/electrical/electronics/Automobile Engineering (OR) Combination of various Streams of these engineering disciples from a reputed Institution in lieu of ITI. 

For the post- Technicians Grade III - 10th/ SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the trades OR 10th /SSLC plus ITI from reputed institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the trades.

Pay Scale of Assistant Loco Pilot - INR 19900/- plus allowances.

Nationality: Indian citizen, a person of India origin who was migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia

and Vietnam (those who are planning to get settled in India permanently)

Pattern and Syllabus Of RRB ALP  

 

There are two stages of Computer Bases Test (CBT) for the selection of the post ALP and Technicians. Stage I and Stage II are two stages for the Computer Based Test. For the post of ALP, the candidate has to take the Computer Based Aptitude Test (AT). There will be negative marking for wrong answers in I & II stages CBT. one-third mark will be deducted for the wrong answer.   Moreover, in Computer Based Aptitude Test there shall be no negative marking. Syllabus Of RRB ALP 

 

CBT  Stage I is common for ALP/technician and in this stage, objective questions will be asked in multiple choices.

 

CBT Stage I syllabus

 

It is the screening test for the applicants.

 

Mathematics: Calendar & Clock, Age Calculation, Geometry and trigonometry, Simple and compound interest, ratio and proportion, Number System, BODMAS, square root, decimals, fractions, HCF, LCM, Time and Distance, Time & Work, Profit & loss, Algebra.

 

General Intelligence and Reasoning: Statement - Arguments and Assumption, Classification, Directions, Analytical Reasoning, Conclusions and Decisions Making, Similarities and Differences, Alphabetical and Number Series, Analogies, Mathematical operations, coding, and decoding, Jumbling, relationships, Venn Diagram, Syllogism, Similarities, and differences, Data interpretation and sufficiency

 

General Science: Topics from 10th standard Physics, Chemistry, and Life Sciences Syllabus.

 

General knowledge on Current Affairs: Applicants must have knowledge of the current happening in the areas of science and technology, culture, sports, personalities, Politics, Economics and other subjects of importance

 

CBT Stage II Syllabus

 

The candidates who have passed the stage I will appear in stage II. The total duration of this stage is two hours and thirty minutes. This stage will be two parts- Part A and Part B. 

 

Part A syllabus
