Eligibility Criteria


For Under Graduate Posts - Candidate must have passed 12th or parallel level of education.


Age Limit: 18 to 30 years as on 01.07.2020


For Graduate Posts - Candidate must be graduate or parral degree from a granted university


Age limit: 18 to 33 years as on 01.07.2020


Nationality - Indian citizen, a person of India origin who was migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam (those who are planning to get settled in India permanently)

Exam Pattern 

The exam of RRB NTPC is done in two stages - Prelims which is Phase I and Mains which is Phase II. The prelim exam consists of one hundred questions with hundred marks and the mains exam consists of one hundred and twenty questions. For every correct answer there is one mark and for every wrong answer, there will be a 0.25 mark deduction.


The selection process incorporated of four stages

  2. Stage II CBT  - For All Post
  3. Stage III Skill typing Test/aptitude test - only for the following post 
  • Computer-based Aptitude Test - for the station master, typing and traffic assistant
  • Skill Test - Junior Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, and Senior Time Keeper, junior clerk cum typist
